ICC Announces Shortlist for Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year
The ICC has revealed a four-player shortlist for the Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year award, featuring two Sri Lankan players alongside one player each from Afghanistan and the West Indies. The nominees include one batter and three all-rounders, highlighting their stellar performances in 2024.
The shortlisted players are:
• Kusal Mendis (Sri Lanka)
• Wanindu Hasaranga (Sri Lanka)
• Azmatullah Omarzai (Afghanistan)
• Sherfane Rutherford (West Indies)
The nominations are based on their overall performances throughout 2024. This announcement follows Virat Kohli’s win as the ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year in 2023.
Men’s T20 Cricketer of the Year Nominees
The ICC also released the shortlist for the Men’s T20 Cricketer of the Year award. The nominees include:

• Sikandar Raza (Zimbabwe)
• Babar Azam (Pakistan)
• Travis Head (Australia)
