Litton & Co. Dedicate Series Win to Victims of Uttara School Plane Crash
Despite sealing a historic T20I series win against Pakistan after a decade, celebration was notably subdued for Bangladesh. The emotional weight of a national tragedy overshadowed the on-field triumph, as Litton Das and his team dedicated their victory to the victims of the Uttara school plane crash.
There were no signs of typical post-match jubilation. No music played inside the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium, and the atmosphere throughout the match remained somber and respectful.
Although Bangladesh clinched the three-match T20I series with one game to spare by beating Pakistan in back-to-back matches, the joy was muted. The tragic crash of a Bangladesh Air Force training jet into the Milestone School & College campus in Uttara, which claimed numerous lives, cast a deep shadow over the match.
Prior to the start of the second T20I, players and coaching staff from both teams observed a minute of silence in memory of those who lost their lives in the accident.
The Bangladesh players, visibly affected by the tragedy, have dedicated their series win to the victims and their families, standing in solidarity with the grieving nation.
