The ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 in Bangladesh had already finalized 8 of the 10 teams. The remaining two teams were to be decided through the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier.
Scotland won against Ireland, and the United Arab Emirates lost to Sri Lanka, securing their tickets to the World Cup earlier. These two teams faced off in the final, where Sri Lanka emerged victorious over Scotland, claiming the Qualifier trophy.
With this victory, Sri Lanka confirmed their place in Group A alongside Australia, New Zealand, India, and Pakistan. On the other hand, Scotland will be grouped with Bangladesh, England, South Africa, and the West Indies.

Scotland couldn't chase down the target, managing only 101 runs in 20 overs. Sri Lanka secured a significant win by 68 runs. Chamari Athapaththu was the match's hero, while Scotland's Kathryn Bryce was named the tournament's best player.
