Ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, the voluntary organization Shopno Aloron Bangladesh distributed new clothes among underprivileged children and food items for their families. The event was held at New Model Multipurpose High School in Shukrabad, Dhaka, where new dresses were handed over to 250 children.
Former Bangladesh national cricket team captain Habibul Bashar Sumon and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) director Asif Akbar were present at the event as special guests.
During the program, BCB director Asif Akbar announced that a one-day cricket tournament will be organized in April involving 16 volunteer organizations.
Others present at the Eid celebration with the children included Toufiqul Islam, father of Shopno Aloron Bangladesh’s founding chairman Akramuzzaman Shuvo; senior journalist Faisal Titumir; the organization’s president Shahab Sohag; general secretary Jaman Ashraf; Rafsanjani Rana; Showkot Selim; Faria Jannat Snigdha; Al Kawsar Rupom; Shahriar Hossain; Riyanur Islam; Tamal Farazi; and Jinia Zafrin Nidra, along with other members of the organization.
Notably, this was the 11th event organized by Shopno Aloron Bangladesh. The day also marked the 8th death anniversary of the organization’s founder, Akramuzzaman Shuvo.
