National Team Cricketers to Feature in the Post-Eid Round of the Walton Smart Fridge Dhaka Premier League
The Walton Smart Fridge Dhaka Premier League (DPL) is set to resume in full swing after the Eid-ul-Adha break. Starting Wednesday, June 2, all 12 clubs will return to action with renewed energy as they compete in the next round of league matches.
A major attraction of this round will be the participation of Bangladesh national team cricketers. As part of their preparations for the upcoming ODI series against Australia, the national players will feature in another round of the Walton Smart Fridge DPL. Their presence is expected to increase the competitiveness of the tournament and further boost spectators’ interest.
Before the Eid break, Bangladesh batter Nazmul Hossain Shanto scored a century for Abahani Limited. In this round, Nahid Rana and Taskin Ahmed are set to return to action, both representing Mohammedan Sporting Club.
This round will also serve as an important preparation platform for the national team players. Following a lengthy break, they will have the opportunity to regain match rhythm, sharpen their batting and bowling skills, and readjust to competitive match situations. The selectors will also get a valuable chance to closely monitor the players’ performances.
Meanwhile, the league teams are eager to strengthen their positions in the standings. With the title race intensifying and the battle to avoid relegation becoming increasingly competitive, excitement is expected to rise significantly after the break.
As Bangladesh prepares for the crucial ODI series against Australia, this round of the Walton Smart Fridge Dhaka Premier League is being viewed as an effective stage for national team preparations. Consequently, the performances of the participating cricketers are attracting added attention across the country’s cricket community.
A review of the points table shows that Mohammedan Sporting Club currently sits at the top after seven matches, collecting 12 points. Defending champions Abahani Limited occupy second place with 10 points from the same number of matches. Legends of Rupganj are third, also with 10 points from seven matches, but trail Abahani on net run rate. Prime Bank Cricket Club are fourth with the same number of points, ranking below the top three due to an inferior run rate.
