Bangladesh Announce Squad for First Test Against Zimbabwe, Taskin Ahmed Ruled Out
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the squad for the first Test of the two-match series against Zimbabwe. The first Test begins at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on 20 April, while the second match starts on 28 April at Chattogram's Bir Shrestha Flight Lieutenant Motiur Rahman Stadium.
Fast bowler Taskin Ahmed is a notable absentee from the last Test series Bangladesh had played. BCB's Senior Physician Dr. Debashis Chowdhury said: "Taskin is currently rehabilitating for a left Achilles tendon issue and is not available for the series."
There is a maiden call up to the Test squad for pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib. The 22-year old has made 28 appearances in white ball cricket for Bangladesh but is yet to feature in Tests:
