Shakib Al Hasan Passes Bowling Action Test, Set to Bowl Again in All Formats
Good news arrived for Shakib Al Hasan's supporters and cricket fans in Bangladesh before the crack of dawn. Shakib has successfully passed his bowling action test in England, clearing him to bowl in any level of cricket without any restrictions. He has now been given the green light to continue his bowling career at both domestic and international levels.
The result of the test, which was conducted due to concerns over Shakib's faulty bowling action, has been positive. With his success in the ECB's bowling test, Shakib is now allowed to participate in all forms of cricket, both domestic and international, as an all-rounder.
Though Shakib had failed in his earlier two attempts, he underwent a third test on March 9 at the University of Loughborough's medical department in England. Yesterday, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) delivered the good news, confirming that the country's best all-rounder had passed the test.
It is important to note that doubts over Shakib's bowling action were raised by umpires after he played a match for Surrey in the County Championship last September. This marked the first time in Shakib's long international career, which began in 2006, that questions were raised about his bowling action.
Shakib's most recent international appearance was in a Test series against India, although his last One-Day International (ODI) appearance was during the 2023 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup.
