Lamichhane to miss T20 World Cup after US rejects his visa application again
Nepal's star cricketer, Sandeep Lamichhane, has had his U.S. visa application rejected once more by the U.S. Embassy in Nepal. As a result, he will not be able to participate in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
The rejection of his U.S. visa application means that Sandeep Lamichhane will miss the upcoming T20 World Cup. The leg-spinner for the Nepal cricket team will miss the tournament, set to take place in the West Indies and the United States, as his visa was denied for the second time this month.
When his visa was first rejected, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) intervened, but the outcome remained the same.
Lamichhane, who was convicted of rape by the Kathmandu District Court in January and sentenced to eight years in prison, was later acquitted by the Nepal High Court, clearing him of all charges.
