Bangladesh Eye Historic Whitewash in Final T20I Against Pakistan
The final match of the three-match T20I series between Bangladesh and Pakistan takes place today at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. With the series already secured by Bangladesh after wins in the first two matches, the hosts now have a golden opportunity to complete a clean sweep.
Earlier in May-June this year, Pakistan whitewashed Bangladesh 3-0 in a T20I series in Lahore. This time, on home turf, the Tigers are poised for revenge.
This is also a historic series win for Bangladesh, as it marks their first-ever T20I series victory over Pakistan. A win in today’s third and final match would not only seal a whitewash but also further boost the team’s confidence ahead of upcoming tournaments.
Team News and Expected Changes
In the second T20I, Bangladesh made two changes:
Mohammad Naim Sheikh came in for Tanzid Hasan Tamim,
Shariful Islam replaced Taskin Ahmed, who was rested.
Shariful impressed with a match-winning spell, taking 3 wickets for just 17 runs in his 4 overs. As a result, he is likely to retain his spot in the playing XI.
However, Naim Sheikh may be dropped again after a disappointing return of just 3 runs off 7 balls. Tanzid Hasan Tamim is expected to return to the opening slot, partnering with Parvez Hossain Emon.
Bangladesh's Probable XI:
Tanzid Hasan Tamim
Parvez Hossain Emon
Litton Das (captain)
Towhid Hridoy
Jaker Ali Anik
Shamim Hossain Patwary
Sheikh Mahedi Hasan
Rishad Hossain
Tanzim Hasan Sakib
Shariful Islam
Mustafizur Rahman
